Founder & President
James spent the first 10 years of his career providing wealth management advice to affluent families in partnership with profound financial institutions such as J.P Morgan Private Bank. Raised in an entrepreneurial family, James followed in their spirit and stepped away from corporate finance with the desire to form his own practice. With over 20 years of industry experience and firsthand knowledge of what families, business owners, and entrepreneurs needed, he saw a unique opportunity to fill a void in the financial services marketplace and launched a service centric firm bringing the highest level of investment offerings to clients, later dubbed, Cypress Capital.
In his off time, James enjoys battling his golf handicap, skiing, and traveling with friends and family. James resides in Ann Arbor, Michigan with his wife, Elizabeth, his daughters, Olivia, Alexandria, and Georgia, and their Bernese Mountain dog, Palmer. Most recently, James and Elizabeth welcomed their fourth child, a son named Maverick Press Housler. James is passionate in supporting CS Motts Children’s Hospital and the American Cancer Society. Additionally, James sits on the Board of Trustees of Youth on Course, an organization providing career prep, mentorship, scholarship programs, and affordable golf to leaders of the forthcoming generation.

Over the past 16 years Mike has worked with over 400 retirement plan clients ranging from startup companies to fortune 500 companies to professional sports teams. Mike’s leadership provides Cypress Capital the ability to help our clients’ businesses improve efficiencies, including delivering solutions for their employees. In his time off, Mike enjoys golf, college football and traveling with his family. Mike and his family are strong supporters of Best Buddies International and the American Cancer Society. Born and raised in Ann Arbor, Mike now lives in Plymouth with his wife, Stephanie and their four children, Drew, Elliot, Quinn & Maxwell.
Noah Housler, CFP®
Senior Financial Analyst & Financial Advisor
Noah brings experience working with families, individuals, and charitable organizations to develop thoughtful, goal-driven financial strategies that support long-term planning and generational continuity. As a CFP® professional, he designs and implements comprehensive financial plans, helping clients navigate pivotal financial decisions and coordinate strategies across their broader advisory teams.
Noah’s work focuses on aligning investment strategy, cash flow management, tax planning, and estate considerations with an emphasis on simplicity and ease of execution, ensuring clients’ plans remain effective as their lives and priorities evolve.
Born and raised in Lansing, Michigan, Noah earned his degree in Personal Financial Planning from Western Michigan University and now resides in Ann Arbor. In his time off, he enjoys golf, reading, following sports, and traveling.
